Grand Floridian DVC Expansion

Disney Vacation Development Inc. confirmed this winter that the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) will be expanding to the Grand Floridian. The new Grand Floridian villas are slated to open in late 2013, and will mark the 12th DVC property. An estimated 147 villas will be part of the new DVC property. What is particularly significant about the proposed new DVC property is that it will be the second located along the monorail. For many years, DVC members clamored for a property choice that was part of the Walt Disney World monorail resorts. WDW Monorail Expansion?

For many guests, the Walt Disney World monorail system is one of the most beloved attractions outside of the parks. The monorail connects three luxury resorts – The Grand Floridian, The Polynesian, and The Contemporary – to The Magic Kingdom park. The Transportation and Ticket Center located near the Polynesian also has a monorail run which goes to and from Epcot Center.
